Dr. Afsaneh Shirani is a board-certified neurologist specializing in multiple sclerosis (MS) and neuroimmunology. She offers expert consultations and second opinions for patients with MS and a wide variety of neuroimmunological disorders. Dr. Shirani is deeply committed to both clinical excellence and patient-centered research, focusing on bridging patient care with evidence-based innovation. As a clinician-scientist, her work centers on advancing the understanding and treatment of MS and related disorders through interventional neuroepidemiology and pharmacoepidemiology. She has a particular interest in utilizing real-world data to enhance patient outcomes and is dedicated to exploring innovative approaches in disease management and neuroprotection for MS and related conditions.
Dr. Shirani serves as the Associate Director of Neuroscience Research and Medical Education at Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute in Kansas City, Missouri. She also holds a faculty appointment as a Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.
